Whys and Wherefores

The Windows 7 operating system suddenly restarts on its own during use.
Cause

The cause of the problem is that Windows 7 is set by default to automatically restart the operating system after a system failure.

It is recommended that you cancel automatic restart. If you Pc issues Restart* after every system failure, then you will not be able to see some error messages. At “Start” -> “Computer” –> right click on “Properties”, and then tap “Advanced system settings”.

In the advanced options of the system context menu, click on “Settings” for Startup and Recovery.

OK” after unchecking the checkbox.

There are two versions of safe mode: Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Networking. Safe Mode with Networking adds the network drivers and services you will need to access the Internet and other computers on your network.

Before you enter safe mode, you need to enter the Windows Recovery Environment (win RE). To do this, you will repeatedly turn your device off, then on the Pc issues Restart:

  2. Press the power button again to turn on your device.
  3. On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

  5. When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
  6. Press the power button again to turn on your device.

On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

  4. Under Boot options, clear theSafe boot

When you are logged in and the server seems to be working, but Remote Desktop still cannot connect, make sure a remote connection is allowed. The easiest way to get to the option is to open sysdm.cpl by searching for it on the start menu. Then move to the Remote tab.

Details are as follow:

Step 1: Start or restart your Windows 7 computer.

Step 2: Press F8 to enter Advanced Boot Options before the Windows 7 loading screen appears.

Step 3: Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt in the coming screen, and then press Enter.

Step 4: Wait for Windows 7 files to load until Windows login screen comes up.

Step 5: Log in Windows with an administrator account until you see login screen.

Step 6: A Command Prompt appears. Type net user in the Command Prompt and then hit Enter. All Windows user accounts will be listed for you.

Step 7: Type net user iSunshare 12345 and hit Enter.

Note: “iSunshare” is your locked Windows user account name. And “12345” means the new password you want to reset for the locked account. User account “iSunshare” will be reset with new password “12345”.

Step 8: The new password has been successfully reset for user when the command is completed successfully.

Step 9: Login Windows 7 PC with the new password.

Whenever you need to access Windows in Safe Mode, an administrator account password is necessary. So it is highly recommended that write down Windows password and store it or creating a Windows password recovery disk before Windows password lost.

2. Bypass Windows Admin Password with Recovery Utility

When no other administrator or password reset disk is available, it will be better for you to use Windows recovery utility. The recovery utility allows you to create a reset disk with bootable USB or CD/DVD ROM, and then take this reset disk to remove forgotten Windows 7 admin password. This way does help when you don’t have administrative privileges to enter Windows system. Step 1: Get Windows 7 Password Genius and install it on any accessible computer.
Step 2: Insert prepared bootable USB or CD/DVD ROM into this computer and run recovery utility.
